Just under 500 incentive industry professionals registered to attend SITE NITE Europe, back again this year with quite a fanfare at the InterContinental Hotel, Frankfurt. Organised as a fundraiser for the SITE Foundation, SITE NITE Europe took place at the end of EduMonday, a day long education event that precedes the commencement of IMEX Frankfurt.
Conversations continued long after the official finish, as the host hotel graciously kept food stations and bars open while guests lingered. As usual at SITE NITE, the photo booth and Step & Repeat wall were in constant use, while the uber-cool DJane played tunes to match the mood.
SITE Foundation President John Iannini, CIS, CTC, Vice President, Business Travel and Meetings & Events Americas, Melia Hotels International opened the festivities. “With the entire incentive travel industry here, SITE NITE is the perfect place to catch up with old friends while making new connections. The fact that all proceeds go to the SITE Foundation means that it’s a true cause for celebration.”
With sustainability being a key focus this year, SITE President Annamaria Ruffini, CIS, CMP, President & CEO, Events In & Out S.R.L. shared how SITE is leading the way in sustainability initiatives for the meetings and events industry. “SITE NITE this year has been planned and operated with a special commitment to sustainability and a strict “no food waste” policy implemented in partnership with our host hotel, InterContinental, Frankfurt.”
The important work done by the SITE Foundation would not be possible without the enduring support of SITE NITE sponsors, guests and volunteers, and through critical partnerships including SITE’s valuable and long-time relationship with IMEX Group.
“I’d like to thank all our SITE NITE Europe volunteers and sponsors without whom this great event could never take place. To IMEX, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Melia Hotels International, Mexico Tourism Board, Dominican Republic Tourist Board and Ovation Global DMC, sincerest thanks from the entire incentive travel industry that will benefit from the excellent work undertaken by the SITE Foundation. In addition, I’d like to give a shout out to AIC Hotel Group, Marriott International Luxury Brands, Event Outfitter, Simply Munich, Melia Coco Beach Puerto Rico and our technology partner, Cvent for helping make this evening possible,” said SITE CEO Didier Scaillet, CIS.
A highlight was a raffle for two amazing travel packages. Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia where the SITE Incentive Summit was hosted in 2016, along with the brand new InterContinental Ljubljana offered a wonderful incentive quality package won by Michael Butler, Director for Brightspot Meetings and Incentives. Marina Parra-Flechsig, Managing Director & Owner, Weichlein Tours + Incentives, along with the city of Munich, sponsored the top prize - a trip to Munich with flights, accommodation and activities won by Carmen Pinto Director of Sales for Liberty International.
