Meet Kimberly Schwalb, CMP, Fiserv

Kimberly Schwalb - Site Southeast.jpgKimberly Schwalb, CMP, has been an active member of Site and Site Southeast USA since 2009 and serves on the Site Southeast Chapter Board as the Programs and Education Committee Liaison. She has also served as a co-chair for the Programs and Education Committee and chaired several educational events since the Site Southeast chapter was established. Kimberly joined Fiserv, a financial services company, in 2006 as a corporate meeting planner and is responsible for events that roll up to the C-suite. These include the annual 100% Club incentive program, Spring and Fall Client Conference, Investor Conference, Analyst Day, Senior Leadership Meeting as well as many others.

She talked to Site Source recently about why she is a member of Site.

Site Source: What/who motivated you to become a member of Site?

Kimberly Schwalb: Carol Owen, Past President of the Site Southeast USA Chapter, approached me the first year the chapter was getting off the ground. I had known Carol through mutual friends and business connections and had always held a great deal of respect for her. I had been looking for an industry-based organization to join but had been disappointed in the local area choices I had tried to date. They were either entirely too large or very cliquey which discouraged my involvement. Carol encouraged me to give Site a try and invited me to participate in the first Southern Supper. I instantly loved the people involved and what Site stands for and have been actively involved ever since.

Site Source: What do you feel are the greatest personal and professional benefits of being a Site member?

Kimberly:
Professionally, the education our chapter produces is the best I have seen and is always on the cutting edge and ahead of the curve. Our chapter has won an award at the Global level each year to back this up! As a corporate planner I have to justify to my manager and the company why I take time away from my work as well as personal life to participate in these programs. I have never been disappointed in a conference I have attended or felt it was a waste of time or money.  Personally, I have developed some lifelong friendships that support me professionally as well. The members of the Site Southeast chapter have strong core values and excellent ethics, which I admire.

Site Source: What do you think Site can do to provide greater value to our corporate members?

Kimberly: It’s a tough balance to cater to the supplier and buyer side of the industry. As a corporate member I have to justify my participation by emphasizing the education of a conference or event. Although the networking is also an advantage, that will not stand alone. As long as Site continues to produce quality, cutting-edge education I plan to continue to participate.
