SITE Celebrates Jane E. Schuldt, CIS, CITE for Induction into CIC Hall of Leaders

Jane Schuldt headshot - web.jpgSITE celebrates the induction of Jane E. Schuldt, CIS, CITE, Founder and President World Marketing Group, Ltd. into The Convention Industry Council (CIC) 2015 Hall of Leaders. The Hall of Leaders recognition program highlights the specific achievements of industry pioneers and emerging leaders who not only changed the landscape of the profession, but changed the culture of business as well.

"It’s a proud moment for SITE – as we honor and recognize a leader who has given so much to our global association community, foundation, industry and incentive professionals around the world," stated Kevin Hinton, SITE Chief Excellence Officer.

Throughout a career that spans 35 years, Jane’s natural mission has been to educate incentive buyers and sellers about the theory and practice of incentive travel – and in doing so, directly shape the evolution and trajectory of the sector. She has traveled the world extensively on behalf of SITE. Educating buyers and suppliers on the value and power of incentive travel and motivational events for companies that invest in these programs has been her mantra.

When notified of her induction into the CIC Hall of Leaders and asked her thoughts, her reply was  "This is a lot to absorb, to be honored for what to me was simply part of the job – to learn the industry, service my clients, and connect to the world. My best teachers were and are SITE members who give more than they get, and become better educated in the process. I must say thank you to all my fellow SITE members and to an association without equal in our specialized industry. SITE and its members truly are best in class. I’m so very proud to receive this honor on its behalf."

Part of Jane’s lasting legacy is with the SITE Foundation, where she was instrumental in continuing the work of its founders from its relatively nascent re-constitution. Having served in various capacities for SITE, including President of the International Board of Directors, an officer on the original Foundation and, most recently, President of the Foundation Board of Trustees, she has directly influenced the projects, White Papers and other studies funded and produced through the Foundation. With various cutting edge and primary research topics, Jane has helped the motivation industry gain traction and support and has helped amplify its voice as part of the industry and business conversation.

Jane was among the first to market the destination management company (DMC) business model and was there when the term "DMC" became part of the industry’s vernacular. She has educated both buyers and sellers about the critical role DMC’s play, and the value they provide in the supply chain.  She continues to be a perpetual champion of the DMC discipline as a strategic partner in the fulfillment process of program delivery.

Jane pioneered positioning and selling Asia to the North American meetings and incentive market. As an American woman working with Asian clients to increase their market share of MICE business from North America, she was one of only a few companies performing a destination marketing role at the time. Jane’s business thrived, establishing her brand and company as a critical link between incentive houses in North America and destinations across Asia-Pacific. Over the course of her career, Jane has made significant introductions across the globe providing an intelligent bridge between agents, corporate buyers DMC’s and suppliers, particularly those in emerging markets. Connecting professionals is a continued focus of her work.

This year’s inductees will be formally recognized at the CIC Hall of Leaders and Pacesetters Celebration on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2015 during IMEX America in Las Vegas.
