Site Mexico Chapter promotes "Site MX 2014" - Motivational Xperience in Mexico

David Diaz, CIS, is the President of Site Mexico and Director General of Procesa Event Management & Incentives, a DMC and incentive/meeting production company with offices in Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City, Mexico. David is one of the first Site Chapter Presidents to obtain the Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) accreditation. In this blog, David shares what Site Mexico has planned for 2014 to tell the story about "Motivational Xperiences" in Mexico.

Site: Are you experiencing a growth in incentive travel programs coming to Mexico?Site MX 2014.jpg

Diaz: The Mexico Tourism Board has been doing a great job to change the bad perception created by the media by promoting the best that Mexico can offer, as well new emerging destinations that provide different options and are exotic, cultural and fun. At IMEX America last year, we held meetings with over 400 buyers indicating that the interest in Mexico is returning. The groups may be smaller and the programs shorter but as long as the groups keep coming they will spread the good word about Mexico and we are prepared to capitalize on this opportunity.

Site: In addition to the US, what other countries are planning incentive programs to Mexico?

Diaz: Russia has been holding some interesting programs in Mexico, but also companies in countries closer to home like Colombia, Panama and Brazil are planning incentive trips to Mexico.

Site: Los Cabos, Cancun, Riviera Maya and Puerto Vallarta have always been popular Mexico destinations for incentive travel. What are other emerging destinations for incentive travel to Mexico?

Diaz: Mexico is a multi-destination option for Incentive Programs. With the “Your Best Reward is Mexico” program, we help to develop and professionalize emerging Mexico destinations and certify them as Specialist in Incentives. Cities like Queretaro, San Cristobal de las Casas, Guadalajara and Campeche have participated in the seminars to become prepared but there are other places like San Miguel Allende, Guanajuato or Oaxaca that have a lot to offer and we will be working with them to become certified. This year we will do a Road show in different USA cities promoting these emerging destinations and, of course, the well known beach destinations.

Site: What activities does the Site Mexico Chapter have planned in 2014 to spread the word about the benefits of incentive travel to Mexico?

Diaz: We will be conducting seminars with Chambers of Commerce around the country to get involved with companies and educate them on how to run an effective incentive program that delivers results. We hope that by doing this we will have more national demand and create more business opportunities for the industry. We are also going to help our membership by promoting their services with a Site Mexico catalog of incentive programs that we will showcase at international events to tell the story about the benefits of incentive travel. Hopefully this will generate more business opportunities and more people will be interested in becoming a part of the Site community because they will realize that incentive travel can provide a measurable ROI.
