SITE Southern California President, Mandy Brown, CIS attended her first chapter event in 2013. With a renewed sense of excitement and connection to her work and the industry, she soon became an active member.
Like many, Mandy's experience with SITE began with volunteering and, with over 15 years in the industry, she became an instant asset to the chapter. She served as chair of the SITE SoCal Holiday Hustle 5K/Fun Run and, together with trusted suppliers, fundraisers, and participants, helped to raise nearly $15,000 for three grassroots charities in the SoCal area. “The experience lit a fire for me and I grew even more attached to the SITE SoCal mission and wanted to play a bigger role in preserving the legacy of an organization that puts its members first, provides top-notch, out-of-the-box educational opportunities, and gives back to the community in such a consistent and meaningful way.”
After serving on the SITE SoCal board as Vice-President of Membership (2015, 2016) Mandy gained the opportunity to serve as President-Elect in 2017, becoming President in 2018.
In 2018, SITE SoCal is celebrating its 20th year as part of the SITE global community. In true SITE SoCal fashion, the chapter plans to Celebrate! all year long. "This may look like we’re having a big party, and we are – but in keeping with our core business values of working towards results, we also have an important strategy behind this."
The chapter has three main goals for 2018:
- Acknowledge our success and how we arrived here.
- Appreciate and align with the core values of SITE’s brand identity that have brought us to where we are. Our core values are CONNECTIONS, CREATIVITY, TRUST, and RESULTS.
- Work with the future in mind to ensure that SITE SoCal will continue to Celebrate! for many years to come.
"Throughout 2018, we are focusing on these core values. In the first quarter, we focused on CONNECTIONS, finding ways to build upon our community of exceptional people, share experiences and support each other to grow as professionals. CREATIVITY was our focus for the second quarter where we worked to drive powerful creation to inspire ourselves, and others who benefit from incentive travel."
TRUST is the topic for third quarter, as the chapter strives to support its members to deliver positive results to their companies and clients with ethics, transparency and mutual respect.
RESULTS, supporting members with resources and tools to show measurable ROI, bringing value to membership and supporting the professional community as a platform for industry advocacy, will be the theme for the fourth quarter.
Mandy has been a Charter Sales Manager with Hornblower Cruises and Events for four years, servicing the national and local corporate markets, as well as convention and association business. “I am proud to have the support of my company for my involvement with SITE. Hornblower values the time and effort to give back to the incentive travel industry and we enjoy producing many incentive programs for our clients.”
When Mandy is not planning the next chapter event and helping clients to book beautiful outings on the bay in Hornblower’s port destinations in: San Diego, Newport Beach, Marina Del Rey, San Francisco and New York City, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time at her parent’s farm in Missouri, known to the family as “Sunset Ranch.”
