Ashley co-owns ‘Achieve Incentives & Meetings’, a third party based out of Cleveland, Ohio that her grandparents founded in 1952. January 2021 will mark her 4th year officially full-time in the industry, though she says she learned her ABC’s alphabetizing flight itineraries under her mom’s desk! Ashley grew up learning about the world through her grandparent’s travel stories and believes that through the experience of travel, bridges can be created, which is a powerful and long-lasting benefit to all we do.

Ashley went to Elon University where she studied Non-Profit Management & Business. She then worked at a Homeless Services Agency for ten years, although almost every year, she would take a week off and support Achieve as a travel staff member for their incentives. Ashley says that her time working in non-profit management taught her everything she knows about “radical hospitality.” To lead with a servant heart is to lead with love and passion and care for others. While a soup kitchen looks very different to a 5-star hotel, the principles remain the same: you greet people with a smile, provide them with quality meals, a safe, warm bed, and take care of their needs.

One of Ashley’s most memorable incentive programs was just this past January in Panama, when they organised a buy-out of the Panama Canal - one of the seven Wonders of the Modern World!  She says it was unbelievable watching the ships pass between the locks… and a joy to watch the amazement of all 600 attendees as the magic unfolded!

Ashley joined SITE back in 2018 in order to get more engaged with the industry and to learn from incentive veterans. She says that the mentoring, networking and support systems are some of the best benefits of all, especially during Covid-19. Because of her connections through SITE, she knows she can pick up the phone and call the smartest hoteliers, planners, contract negotiators, trip directors – you name it, the best and brightest are in this association - and she can count on them for guidance at any turn.

She encourages all members to take the time to get involved on a committee or a board as this is where the most value is.  She truly believes that it’s through relationship building that you gain the most insight, energy, and also genuine friendships. Her advice to any MICE professional currently debating whether to become a SITE Member is to just jump in!
