It is so hard to believe that 2015 is coming to a close - what an incredible year it is has been! While 2016 will bring a few changes within the SITE International Board of Directors, and Rajeev Kohli will become President, the momentum will only continue!
This year we continued to be guided by SITE’s Painted Picture vision and strategic framework that was expanded to include our focus on ECPAT and commitment to stop human trafficking globally.
We accelerated our efforts to drive membership and strengthen our chapters and added two new chapters, SITE Midwest USA and SITE Poland. I am very proud to say that at the end of 2015 the SITE community has grown to nearly 2100 members in 85 countries – the highest total membership count since 2007 (2156 members) and 1999 (2048 members).
A key priority this year was to strengthen our value proposition for members. During IMEX America, we unveiled our new Incentive Travel (it) Works marketing campaign to clarify and communicate the key benefits of being a member of SITE. If you have not yet renewed your membership for 2016, I encourage you to do so before the 31 December deadline!
My thanks go to SITE Foundation President and friend, Kurt Paben and the Foundation Board of Trustees for their support of all of the new initiatives introduced this year. Working together we have achieved much greater board alignment and began hosting joint meetings starting at the Executive Summit in Dubai, that included a great day of education for incentive industry professionals in the region.
The SITE Global Conference in New Delhi, India was truly an experience of a lifetime! Everyone who attended appreciated the extraordinary efforts of the SITE India Host Committee, the warm welcome and amazing service provided by the Indian community and the exceptional education. It was a SITE conference with an incentive feel that will be remembered forever!
We have announced changes to our 2016 event strategy, adding more regional events we are calling Incentive Summits. The year will kick off with an Incentive Summit in Ljubljana, Slovenia, 18-22 January followed by the inaugural Incentive Summit Americas in Snowmass Village, Colorado, 31 March – 3 April. These are the first of many more regional Summits to come.
Our industry continues to grow and I remain positive about the future. As a global community, we must not allow recent world events to impact the strength of our business. It is important that we stand together, support each other and continue to spread and reinforce our message that incentive travel equals business results.
Thank you for your support and contributions to SITE!
Happiest of holiday to you and yours,
SITE President 2015
