ITE logo.jpgQuestex Travel Group’s 13th annual Incentive Travel Exchange (ITE) took place 18-21 April at the Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay. Held in partnership with SITE, the sold out event brought fully hosted, high-volume North American incentive buyers and meeting planners, who have a combined purchasing power of $1.5 billion, together with global suppliers for two and a half days of exclusive networking opportunities and scheduled one-to-one meetings in private, luxury suites.

The program launched with an education session presented by SITE called “Knowing Your Customer and Your Customer’s Customer,” led by SITE Foundation President John Iannini, CIS, CTC, Vice-President, Business Travel, Meetings & Events Americas, Melia Hotels International. John shared how designing an incentive program begins with understanding the customer: the context for the business, the commitment of leadership and the characteristics of program participants. Attendees learned how to determine whether an incentive program is a good fit for the customer and the business.

ITE18 Speakers.jpgJennifer Martin, published author, motivational speaker, and the founder of Zest Business Consulting provided a valuable keynote address, “Ready, Set, Connect! Networking from Your Brilliance”. Martin had attendees up out of their seats and interacting with one another to help them create the best versions of themselves and help them succeed before heading out for their full day of private one-to-one appointments.

Education continued during lunch as SITE CEO Didier Scaillet, CIS gave the audience insights into the future of the incentive market with "SITE 2020 - A Vision to Grow our Global Community and Strengthen the Incentive Travel Industry Worldwide.” Didier shared trends from SITE Index 2018 and outlined how SITE plans to grow its chapter network, increase membership and continue to raise awareness of the human and economic impact of the incentive industry on the global economy.

ITE Attendees.jpgThe first full day ended with a lavish rooftop dinner at the exquisite M Resort, followed by a late-night helicopter ride for a lucky group of attendees courtesy of Maverick Aviation Group. Attendees were each scheduled a minimum of 25 private one-to-one appointments. The show closed with a reception at the Hard Rock Cafe, followed by tickets to the famous Mat Franco – Magic Reinvented Nightly.

In two days, buyers and suppliers conducted a total 2,853 one-to-one appointments, ensuring a month’s worth of new contacts, and walked away with qualified RFPs, and potential new business. Both suppliers and buyers alike were exceptionally satisfied with the event and the expected takeaways.
