Today SITE members and friends around the world join the entire meetings and events industry to celebrate our common cause – the transformational impact of face-to-face meetings, incentive travel experiences and live events on individuals, groups, businesses, destinations and society itself.
Meetings, conferences, seminars, congresses, round tables, symposia, conventions, networking, gala dinners – every style and shape of event – are taking place today on all 6 continents highlighting the indispensable contribution of the business events industry to the world in which we live. In Texas alone you can “Sip, Savor & Stroll” or “Lunch, Learn & Laugh” at events inspired by the theme “real results, real impact, all around the world”.
A pan industry audience of SITE Southern California, MPI and PCMA members will be joined by the leadership of their respective associations at a live event in Los Angeles in celebration of GMID.
SITE President, Annamaria Ruffini is traveling all the way from Italy to join the celebration. “A key focus of my SITE presidency has been building alliances and partnerships with other industry associations. This was consolidated in Rome when Amanda Armstrong, President of MPI and I signed the new “Treaty of Rome” on behalf of our respective communities. I’m thrilled that Amanda and I will stand side-by-side in Los Angeles in a powerful display of pan-industry solidarity and belief in the business and societal impact of face-to-face meetings and events."
Many SITE chapters around the world - SITE Florida & Caribbean, SITE Minnesota, SITE Southeast USA and SITE Turkey - are staging their own events in support of GMID. In addition to SITE Southern California, SITE Chicago, SITE Poland, SITE Northeast USA and SITE Texas are participating with other industry associations to stage joint events in their regions.
“I encourage SITE members all over the world to get involved in Global Meetings Industry Day," said Didier Scaillet, SITE CEO. “You’ll find full details of the hundreds of events that are taking place today on the MeetingsMeanBusiness website. If you cannot attend an event in person, I encourage you to participate in the Global Meetings Industry Day Virtual Event organised by MPI in association with MeetingsMeanBusiness. This event is live from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (CST) ensuring that event professionals all over the world can participate”
