Hugo-Slimbrouck.jpgEffective trips are today about true creativity, about storytelling and about really innovative experiences. You don’t organize a motivational event, you have to design it. How?? In this practical session, Hugo Slimbrouck will explain how to put serious creativity, storytelling and new experiences in incentive trips and motivational experiences. Members of site and of the audience will also bring their ideas and experiences.

After that, roll up your sleeves! By groups, you will design your own incentive based on a briefing (you can bring you own briefing, by the way!), applying the methods and ideas seen in the presentation. Each group will include one destination, to work with the concrete attributes of a destination.

Risk and Security - The Impact to the Industry on the Global Stage

Safety and security are top of mind for everyone in the incentive industry today. This is your chance to ask this panel of experts’ questions on promoting, sourcing, planning and executive programs that are impacted by safety and security concerns in this new era. From suppliers to buyers, we have all had to consider and assess Risk and Security and how it will impact our programs from being able to execute to attendees perceptions. Collaborate with each other on best practices for ensuring your safety and security plans are up to date. Also discuss how recent events are impacting your incentive programs.

Andrea Boulden, TD Wealth: Andrea is the Manager of Events on the TD Wealth Employee Andrea (002).pngExperience team and has worked in the industry for over 20 years. She leads a team of 7 Event Managers and Coordinators responsible for planning employee and client meetings, conferences and roadshows for all businesses within Wealth. Andrea has been in this role at TD for 2 and a half years. It is the first bank she has worked at after having spent her career at KPMG and Deloitte leading event teams in addition to various roles in Learning & Development and HR. She is passionate about events and what she loves the most about her current role is being able to help her team to develop their planning skills and build their careers at TD.

Ellie MacPherson, Strategic Meetings + Incentives: Ellie joined SM+i/Strategic Meetings + Ellie_SITE.pngIncentives in 2006, bringing 25+ years of experience in the incentive, meetings and events arena in both the U.S. and Canada. As co-owner of a boutique incentive house for more than 15 years, she not only directed and coached a team but managed and maintained numerous high profile, long term client accounts in the financial services and medical technology sectors.

Prior to joining SM+i, Ellie was Vice President of Operations for a significant player in the incentive travel industry where she planned, organized and directed multiple aspects of the profitable operation. All while managing and motivating a full range of highly effective travel professionals.

Ellie is active in the Industry:

  • A SITE Canada member since 2002 and has served on the Board as Education Chair 2013 and 2014 and as VP Finance, 2015 and 2016. Served as Gala Chair for the 2005 SITE International Conference held in Toronto.

Catherine Chaulet, Global DMC Partners: As President, Catherine built and leads the standards, success and growth of Global DMC Partners and their network of more than 65 DMCs worldwide. Prior to Global DMC Partners, Catherine worked for Fidelity Investments where she oversaw two of their subsidiaries to worldwide success. Catherine is a dynamic leader with a proven track record of success in the DMC, travel, meetings and incentives industries keenly focused on driving profitability, delivering customer service excellence, and building powerful brands. She is known for setting a high standard, forming collaborative teams, and motivating employees, partners and vendors to perform at their best. Vitto Curalli, Canada, Latin America & International: As the Executive Director of Sales for Canada, Latin America and the International Sales offices in the Americas, Vito oversees several teams with responsibilities for more than $350 Million in revenue to the organization. Prior to joining Hilton Worldwide, Vito was the Vice President of Development for AFM Hospitality based in Toronto, overseeing a team of franchise development managers throughout Canada. AFM encompassed several brands including Ramada, Howard Johnson and Park Plaza hotels.

Vito is a graduate of Ryerson University's Hospitality and Tourism School (BComm.) and the University of Guelph's Hospitality and Tourism Management School (MBA). He received his CHA designation in 2016. Vito has taught Sales and Marketing Courses at Ryerson University's Hospitality and Tourism School and currently sits on several boards including the Hotel Association of Canada, Ryerson’s Ted Rogers School’s Dean Council and Humber’s School of Hospitality Advisory Board.
