The 2011 Site International Conference welcomed 477 delegates and represented the views of 46 different countries. Site President Mary MacGregor and Conference Chairwomen Aoife Delaney welcomed the audience with enthusiasm and a little help from former Mayor Oscar Goodman. One highlight of this year’s event was the opening keynote panel featuring industry leaders who focused on relevant points such as staying close to our customers, meeting needs in a social economy, engagement of employees, bad behaviors created by the economy and that we must all be able to measure and monetize the value and impact of motivational experiences and business events. The keynote panel included Fay Beauchine, CITE, President of Business Loyalty, Aimia (formerly Carlson Marketing); Scott Graf, Global President, BCD Meetings & Incentives; David Peckinpaugh, President, Maritz Travel Company; and Roger Tondeur, President, MCI Group.
Thanks to Site friends at the Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, ARIA Resort & Casino, the Mirage and MGM Events, delegates were treated to engaging experiences and delightful cuisine. For those delegates who attended IMEX America, kicking one’s heels up in the sand at the opening welcome reception on the beach at Mandalay Bay was a welcome moment of relation. Overall delegates had the opportunity to engage in like-minded dialogue, connect with Site chapter leaders and have a sneak peek at what is in store for them when the 2012 conference heads to Beijing, China. Stay tuned for more updates and event photos to be posted shortly.
