I will bring to the board a wealth of knowledge, understanding and experience in the motivation industry. Having spent 22 years working with motivation programmes as a DMC, I have worked my way through from apprenticeship to Managing Director in all disciplines of our business.

I have been involved with Site throughout my career and have been at the very grass roots of the association. My first international Site event was the Site University in Orlando in 1990 which I attended as a non-member; I subsequently joined as a member and have played a leading role in the Site GB Chapter (Chapter President in 2005 & 2006). I was elected Site Member of the Year in 2006 and chaired the International Conference in Montreux in 2008. Through this experience, I understand members’ needs at both Chapter and International level, having lived through the frustrations and elations of a chapter that was floundering, as well as the challenges that global political and economic events have thrown at our industry over the years.

I believe my professional and association experience have given me the following skills which I would bring to the board: leadership, communication, strategic thinking, global contacts and above all passion!

How will you support Site’s vision?
Having created a new global brand, Site's leaders now need to deliver on the brand promise and listen to the members globally and cater to their different needs, cultures and pressures. I believe I can contribute my experience as a member, Chapter leader and active industry player, to improve communication between members internationally and be part of a truly global association. I have lived these principles in my professional life and supported them in my past Site activities (as manifested by my election as Site Member of the Year in 2006) – as a board member I believe I can contribute even more positively to the society’s vision.

If I am elected, I hope to achieve the following:
- I plan to be an active member of a strategic group that will help to shape an ever changing industry.
- I have taken a lot from the industry over the years and see this as an opportunity to give something back to an industry that I feel passionately about.
- Having created a global brand in Site Global in 2008, we now need to deliver on our promise to become a truly global association listening to the needs of members around the globe with their different cultures pressures and customs. I believe I can contribute the skills listed above to improve communication between members internationally and be part of a truly global association.

Position: Director of Global Accounts, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company
Member Since: 2004
Number of new (approved) members sponsored in Site: 20
Discipline: Hotel Sales
Attendance at Site international events: Toronto, Aruba and Frankfurt
Site Board/Committee Activity: In December of 2008 I was asked by Mary MacGregor to take Barb Hollister’s position on the Board. My first Board meeting was in Aruba, November 2009. My role is to be a liaision to The Young Leaders
Speaker/Presenter/Facilitator/Moderator at Site sponsored Educational Events or Programs:
I have not spoken at Site sponsored events, only at Industry Events relating to Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company

I bring the following qualifications and experience to this position:
The past 8 years I have held global account director positions with Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. This is backed up by 15 years as senior sales manager with Westin Hotels & Resorts and director of group sales for the Ritz-Carlton, St Louis. My business and travels take me far beyond my immediate region and so I offer the board a global view and business acumen that is important at that board table.

It has been my privilege to have met so many talented and wonderful people in this industry as I never meet anyone that I haven’t gained information from. Along the way, I have listened to many clients talk about their needs, objectives and challenges and that has created a passion for seeing how I can assist others with ideas, introductions and business solutions.

In 2009, I was honored to be asked to join the Site International Board of Directors when a sitting Director could not fulfill the duties of their term. As a Director, I knew I could be in a position to support Site’s vision, guide the society and support the member conversation. Sitting on the Site Board really opens your perspective of the society and our industry and I hope the members will allow me this opportunity to have a second term to put to good use all that I have learned to date.

How will you support Site’s vision?
If elected as a Board Member, I will continue to enliven the three core brand pillars: Global Connections, Motivational Experiences and Business Results. Having had the exposure to the Board over the past three Board Meetings, I feel that I’m just gaining the full understanding of what the Board responsibilities are as a Board Representative and indeed wish to move forward with the team in producing ideas to grow membership, retain our current members and work with new members to ensure they get the ROI in being a member of Site. In Frankfurt recently, I met with the Young Leaders Chairs and indeed look forward to my continued work with them as they grow in their own discipline. Site is so highly global as is my own company. We are the only association in our industry that is so globally based.

If I am elected, I hope to achieve the following:
My goals if elected to The Site Global Board of Directors is to enhance the Young Leaders program, drive membership from the supplier and buyer side. As noted above, I would continue to support Site’s vision, guide the society and support member conversation.
